Job description
Our client, based in South Yorkshire, is currently recruiting for a HR Manager on a permanent contract in the public sector. This position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The annual salary is £42,000 - £45,000 which is negotiable based on experience for this position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in the Human Resources sector; however this requirement can be flexible.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
To advise a range of managers on all HRM issues, including workforce planning, staff recruitment, employee relations and performance management
To work within the recruitment team to coordinate and support the recruitment selection processes and procedures, adhering to GDPR policies
Provide advice and guidance to managers and carry out associated administration duties
To manage, record and maintain staff data and information services, primarily on the HR database
To undertake general administration duties associated with HR functions
Develop and deliver training and awareness sessions for managers in relation to HRM practices and legislation
To undertake and manage specific projects and to work with others to develop, implement and reviews HR policies and procedures, which reflect employment and work-style patterns.
To develop and maintain employee relations with employees and their representatives in order to develop good quality services
To assist the HR Management Team in developing HR strategies to ensure employment and development of a well-qualified and competent workforce
To research information and provide ad hoc reports as required
Experience required:
Minimum four years’ experience within Human Resources
CIPD or MCIPD qualification is desirable but not essential
Experience supervising/managing a team is desirable
Experience of delivering training and other learning interventions
A proven track record in managing HR operational services
Experience working within complex public-service organisations
Significant experience in managing complex casework and developing others within the HR team
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Good IT skills and experience of using HR systems
Good communication skills
High level of personal resilience
Effective knowledge of employment legislation and HR practices is required
Adaptable and shows initiative
Full drivers license and access to a vehicle is desirable
