Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Union which has a strong international presence based in London, who are recruiting for a HR administrator on a temporary six-month contract. The position is due to start the first week of December, and the hourly rate of pay is up to £23.06 PAYE (inc. holiday pay).

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the public sector, notably for a large organisation, and CIPD L3-5. They’ll also be comfortable dealing with a large volume of various queries, as well as being well-versed in managing recruitment portals with around 1/2 vacancies a month. On top of this, a keen awareness of employment legislation will be strongly advantageous.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the HR inbox, ensuring that queries are answered within the SLA and any concerns escalated appropriately and in a timely manner

  • Overseeing the new starter process including contracts, pre-employment checks and pension auto-enrolment

  • Maintaining a database of sponsored employees, proactively ensuring compliance with Home Office Regulations

  • Liaising with the staff committee on contract changes and providing information as required

  • Monitoring sickness absence and following up on requesting statement of fitness for work notes where necessary, including any payroll change

  • Producing monthly HR reports from Cascade as necessary under the guidance of HR Manager

  • Provide information to staff on the organisations benefits packages

Experience required:

  • Experience in a large third sector company

  • Experience dealing with a large volume of queries (c. 200/day via email)

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Working well with others, and able to deal with a range of personalities

  • Solid understanding of employment law and regulation

  • Managing recruitment portals
