Housing First Worker
Job description
Our client, based in Newham, is currently recruiting for a Housing First Support Worker on a 3-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with those who have experienced homelessness, hold an enhanced DBS on the update service and has previously used the housing first model.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a caseload of 7 clients with complex needs 
- Creating tailored risk assessments and support plans 
- Providing support to the client in managing their tenancies 
- Signposting customers to additional support providers 
- Assisting clients in moving in to more permanent accommodation 
Experience required:
- Experience using the housing first model 
- Experience working with clients with complex needs 
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Risk assessment and management 
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
- Good organisational and time management skills 
- Awareness of and ability to comply with relevant health and safety legislation 
- Ability to work effectively without supervision
