Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a respected Charity based in Buckinghamshire, who is recruiting for a Housing First Support Worker on a temporary to permanent contract. The initial contract is set to go on for 12 weeks, to then potentially move onto a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The permanent salary on offer is £31,000 per annum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and maintaining operational links with key partners and stakeholders keeping them fully informed of the pathways and support needs of the residents

  • Ensuring each resident has a clear programme of support in place to help them achieve independent living skills

  • Providing day to day support to a caseload of residents with complex and coexisting needs, ensuring they are appropriately assessed and supported and to work collaboratively with specialist substance misuse services and Adult Mental Health Services to ensure these needs are met

  • Work effectively with internal & external stakeholders, openly and collaboratively, valuing their differences and developing a working environment which helps achieve goals

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Complex needs and therapeutic methods to supporting the residents in addressing their needs and inform change

  • Childhood trauma, as well as its impact on mental wellbeing and be able to deliver the appropriate information, intervention, advice guidance

  • Developing support plans / risk assessments

  • Working within a forward thinking and expanding Housing Service

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday

  • 10:00am-6:00pm
