Housing First Support Worker

Our client, based in Warwickshire, is currently recruiting for a Housing First Support Worker on a temporary contract for one month.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for a caseload of approximately 10 service users providing a supported housing service to customers aged 25 and over with needs including drug and alcohol misuse, homelessness and ex-offenders
  • Liaised with support agencies, as necessary, with a view to providing the client with a high quality and robust support network
  • Input all information into the Housing system correctly and ensure that GDPR is met at all times
  • Ensure that tenancy agreements / license agreements and house rules are explained to clients and enforced
  • Completing tailored support plans to suit individual needs
  • Monitoring and ensuring the prompt notification of vacancies, preparation of empty units, and investigation of possible abandonment’s so that voids are minimised
  • Signpost service users to relevant voluntary or statutory agencies
  • Providing advice regarding housing and welfare benefits, liaising with support services as appropriate
  • Ensure clients accommodation is safe, secure and well maintained, utilising internal / external property teams and contractors
  • Obtaining rent payments and ensuring that customer do not fall into arrears

 

Experience /skills required:

  • Must of have experience working with vulnerable service users
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS within the last year
  • Have experience within Social Housing
  • Work well within a team

Working hours:

  • 37 ½ hours per week
  • Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
