Job description
Our client, based in Newport and is currently recruiting for a hybrid Housing Advice Manager on a 6-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is up to £33.77 an hour depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team, hold an enhanced DBS taken out within the last three years taken out within the last three years and have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Leading day-to-day operations and overseeing a team of 30 with 5 direct reports.
Providing clear managerial direction to ensure housing needs assessments and homelessness applications are completed in line with legislation, policies, and pathways.
Overseeing housing applications and lettings, ensuring compliance with allocation policies.
Ensure effective client support and risk assessments, developing trauma-informed support plans tailored to individual needs, including crisis interventions.
Providing staff supervision and case management, supporting performance and development while addressing under performance and compliance issues.
Maintain accurate records, performance data, and reports, ensuring timely submissions to Welsh Government and driving service improvements.
Monitoring and managing team budgets, including capital and revenue expenditure and estimates.
Preparing and managing funding bids to tackle homelessness, ensuring compliance with grant conditions and monitoring funded organisations.
Experience required:
Experience required in Social Housing
Experience in managing and providing team support in a similar role.
Experience in maintaining and driving the delivery of support plans and risk assessment
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Risk assessment and management
Financial management and budgeting
Compliance and due diligence
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
