Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an award-winning Housing Association based in East London, who are looking to appoint a Head of Repairs on a permanent contract. 

This will be a full-time position based in East London, with hybrid working (2 days home working) and a salary of £77,000 to £84,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working in a similar role at senior level and a MRICS or MCIOB qualification is essential. 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Be responsible for all aspects of responsive and void repair activities and ensure that they take into account: corporate strategic plan; statutory, regulatory and policy requirements; resident engagement; the need to anticipate and respond to changes in the environment
  • Monitor, analyse and act upon key performance indicators; trends in repair reporting, completion and spend; quality control; and the completion of allocated works. Identify and rectify adverse trends
  • Lead the team to ensure that all aspects of service delivery meet statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements
  • Be responsible for the organisation's responsive repair budget
  • Oversee the diagnosis, specification, ordering, administration, completion and payment of repairs
  • Oversee and develop robust quality control processes for responsive repairs
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complaints about the repair service
  • Deputise for the Assistant Director of Property Services

Experience required:

  • MCIOB/MRICS qualification
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering customer focussed services
  • Achieving demanding performance targets, goals and standards
  • Contract management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Legislation, relating to housing and repair services
  • Customer service best practice
  • Service implications of working in diverse communities
