Job description

​​Our client, a Housing Association based in Bristol, is currently recruiting for a Head of Financial Reporting on a permanent contract. They are proud to support over 6,000 homes and work in partnership with other social housing providers to invest in and build more homes in the South West.

The salary on offer is £75,000 pa, alongside a flexible agile working policy. They role is due to start as soon as possible and on a full-time basis.

The position is responsible to the Chief Finance Officer and the position holder will deliver a high quality Financial Reporting service to customers and stakeholders.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

·         Responsible for the preparation of the Group and subsidiary annual financial statements

·         Leading the external financial audit for the Group and act as the lead contact for the external Auditors

·         Responsible for the annual Group financial reporting obligations to the Regulator of Social Housing

·         Ensuring all statutory, regulatory and legally required returns are completed and submitted in line with required deadlines and agreed processes

·         Monitoring and benchmarking of Value for Money metrics for the Group

·         Leading on the technical accounting for the Local Government Pension Schemes (defined benefit schemes) across the Group and be the key point of contact for the pension actuaries

·         Preparing and presenting information to the Senior Leadership

·         Managing VAT, Tax and CIS activities across the Group

·         Deputising for the CFO as required

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

·         Qualified CCAB Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAS) with 2 years post qualification experience

·         Experience of leading a year-end financial audit for a Group

·         Strong understanding of the audit process

·         Experience of preparing consolidated financial statements for a Group

·         Knowledge of the housing sector (desirable)

·         Experience of using Agresso accounting package (desirable)
