Job description

We are currently partnering with a Social Housing Association based in Bristol, who are recruiting for a Governance Manager to join their growing team on a 6 month contract, with opportunities to go permanent following this.

This is a full-time position with flexible daily rate of pay and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the organisation's corporate governance services and supporting the Director of Business Services to ensure a high level of governance, legislation and regulation

  • Ensure the highest levels of governance for the business, its boards and committees

  • Managing compliance with company law and other legal obligations upon the group, including formal record keeping requirements and providing advice on decision making processes and other aspects of good governance practice

  • Reviewing and recommending changes in policy, procedure and working practices that will improve service delivery and contribute to achieving strategic objectives

  • Producing accurate and timely draft governance reports for board and committee level meetings

  • Line managing a Risk & Assurance Business Partner

  • Supporting with recruitment and on-boarding for Board Members

Requirements:

  • Experience managing a team

  • Public sector experience
