Job description
We are currently working in partnership with an award-winning Social Housing organisation who are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis
This is a full time, hybrid position requiring travel to the Birmingham City Centre offices two days per week (with Thursday as a set day) and offering a salary of £33,400 - £41,800.
The ideal candidate will be qualified with Social Housing experience, however this is not essential.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring timely delivery of accurate, consistent and relevant financial information for both internal and external reporting
- Holding responsibility for housing property fixed asset accounting for the group including component replacements
- Accounting and reporting of property disposals and housing properties handed over including movements in stock
- Supporting with accounting for deferred capital grants
- Assisting Business partners with subsidiary management accounts analysis
- Producing annual statutory accounts which comply with accounting standards
- Completing tasks to support the year end audit with external auditors
- Reviewing balance sheet accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
- Ensuring that the information provided is clear for the target audience, whether financial, non-financial, external regulator or statutory auditor
- Ensuring compliance and commit to process improvement and deliver change in financial controls, policies and procedures
Experience required:
- Experience required in Social Housing is desirable
- Previous experience in a Fixed Asset role
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- CCAB qualification is preferred
- Intermediate MS Excel level
- A self-starter who is looking to join an established organisation
