We are currently representing a Midlands based Local Authority who are looking to appoint an interim Finance Business Partner on an initial six-month assignment. The role will be fully remote and the day rate is c£600umb (DOE).

This position will be looking after the councils capital projects, so previous experience within the field is an essential requirements of the successful candidate.

Job purpose:

​

Assisting the Council in maintaining and improving their assets and infrastructure, including but not limited to the construction, expansion, renovation or replacement projects for existing of new assets.

​

Daily duties:

• Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in providing financial expertise and intelligence on a wide range of capital projects

• Identifying commercial and financial risk to support complex business decisions

• Ensuring robust systems are in place for monitoring spend and expenditure against the progamme, and maintaining awareness of funding sources

• Leading on financial forecasting and reviewing of achievement of capital receipts

• Representing the council at external meetings and leading negotiations with suppliers and partner organisations

• Managing a credible wider finance team, able to give concise and accurate support to stakeholders of varying levels

• Preparing and presenting financial reports to Councilors and senior officers at briefings as appropriate

Experience required:

• Qualified CCAB Accountant

• Experience working in local authority within capital projects

• Confident working with senior leaders at director level

​

Working pattern:

• 100% working from home

• Monday – Friday
