Job description
We are proud to be working with an award-winning University based in Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a HR Business Partner on a 12-month fixed term contract to lead on a change management project.
The role will predominately be on site, with one day home working, and offers up to £55,000 and a generous holiday and pension allowance.
This will suit someone looking for an autonomous position with extensive change management and trade union experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading a complex restructure of services, including headcount reductions and service redesign
- Managing consultations with affected employees and upskilling management teams to lead on restructure processes
- Conducting gap analyses, benchmarking, and workforce planning to inform decisions
- Developing and executing a comprehensive change management plan to support the restructure
- Acting as the primary liaison with recognised trade unions, managing consultation and negotiation processes
- Managing and resolving employee relations issues sensitively and effectively
- Monitoring risk and ensuring mitigation strategies are in place, particularly in relation to staff morale and service continuity
- Producing clear reports, business cases, and board papers related to the restructure
Experience required:
- Experience in a complex unionised environment
- Extensive change management experience
Qualifications required:
- CIPD L5 minimum
