Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a University based in the North-West, who are looking for a locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer on an initial 3-month contract.
They are looking for someone to start immediately, and are offering a daily rate of circa £450 per day, based on candidate experience and PQE.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with experience working within the public sector, ideally within higher education.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Handling a broad range of work including commercial contracts and procurement projects, charity law, regulatory/compliance matters, data protection, research projects, safeguarding, equality issues, and student-related matters
Managing the preparation, negotiation and review of key commercial contracts, including NDAs, research agreements and consultancy agreements
Negotiating and drafting contracts in consultation with colleagues across Academic and Professional Services departments in order to fully support the teaching and research undertaken by the University
Experience required:
Experience required in the public sector, ideally Higher Education
Qualified Solicitor
Experience managing commercial contracts
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
