​Our client, with projects based in West Sussex, is currently recruiting for a New Build Clerk of Works on a temporary contract for up to six months. Our client is an award-winning and leading national consultancy.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The daily rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

* Carry out site inspections of building related works and evaluate site and trade method statements and risk assessments

* Develop, maintain and contribute to the improved culture of planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) and assist the role of Project Manager

* Provide observation and liaison with contractors in their adherence to the specified work and ensure Health & Safety regulations are always adhered to

* Assess the financial, operational or overall risk impact of any proposed changes to the Council’s activities

* Identify relevant changes in legislation or statutory requirements, or a revised approach to generic defects or a default solution to common responsive repairs

* Contribute to the consideration of investment planning for effective asset management of the property portfolio of the Council and their service partners

Experience required:

•    ICWCI is desired

•    Minimum two years’ experience within the sector

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

•    Experience on new build residential projects

•    Snagging latent defects

•    Compliance and due diligence
