Job description

We are currently partnering with a Kent based Council, who are recruiting for a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their team on an initial temporary 3 month basis.

 

This is a full-time position with a negotiable rate and the start date is as soon as possible. This role is hybrid with office/court attendance required once a week .

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a caseload of Civil and Criminal Litigation inclusive of Advocacy
  • Handling a mixed caseload on matters relating to: housing disrepair, possession, anti-social behavior, environmental protection, rent arrears, boundary disputes, fly tipping and homelessness
  • Conducting Advocacy in County Court and Magistrates Court, Preparing Bundles, instructing Counsel
  • Negotiating Costs, Part 36 Settlement Agreements, adhering to the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims
  • Dealing with Environmental Protection Act Claims, Rent Arrears Civil Claims, Boundary Dispute

 

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • They are also open to offering condensed hours
