Job description

Our client, based in Lancashire, is currently recruiting for a locum Childcare Lawyer on an initial 3-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £50 - £60 per hour, via an umbrella company, but is negotiable based on PQE.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing key childcare and section 31 cases, and have experience working in local government.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing your own caseload of around 13, mainly focused around section 31 cases

  • Undertaking relevant advocacy for the matters they have conduct if e.g. CMH’s, IRH’s, short final hearings

  • Representing the council at court when required

  • Joining a large and established childcare team with high level legal admin support

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Local Government

  • Ideally qualified as a Solicitor

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
