Job description

Our client, based in the East Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Building Services Manager on a three month temporary contract with a view to go permanent.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The daily rate is £350 per day via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have ran EICR domestic testing and asbestos survey and removal programmes with a strong background of contracts management.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the delivery and quality of all Electrical Testing (EICRs) in line with a Five-Year planned programme and Asbestos services (Surveys & Removals)
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act requirements, ensuring services meet Building Regulations, British Standards, ACoPs and best practice
  • Monitoring the performance and quality of external Electrical & Asbestos contractors
  • Managing inhouse teams, monitoring their works, ensuring KPIs and standards are met and exceeded
  • Co-ordinating all remedial works arising from testing and inspection schemes
  • Conducting service review meetings with contractors, senior colleagues and stakeholders
  • Working on other areas of compliance where required to, including Gas, Fire Safety, Legionella and LOLER

Experience required:

  • Experience of managing an inhouse team and monitoring their work
  • Previous experience of conducting service reviews for contractors and monitoring their performance
  • Robust contracts management experience
  • Ideally an extensive background in compliance within a Social Housing setting

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday – flexible hours
  • Hybrid working – three days in the office, two at home
