Job description
We are currently working with a leading Social Housing provider in South Manchester, who are looking for a Building Safety Manager on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position, offering a generous pension scheme and hybrid working. The salary for the role is up to £51,366.00 dependent on experience
The ideal candidate will have extensive Building Safety knowledge, and would have worked within a public sector organisation before.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Leading the Building Safety Team, ensuring risk assessments, inspections, and resident engagement are delivered to high standards and aligned with Building Safety Act requirements
Developing and maintaining the Golden Thread of building information, ensuring accurate, accessible, and up-to-date records across the asset lifecycle
Preparing, implementing, and regularly reviewing Safety Case Reports to demonstrate effective risk management and compliance
Acting as the duty holder and subject matter expert on building safety legislation, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations and regulatory frameworks
Managing external consultants, contractors, and suppliers, overseeing procurement, contract negotiations, and permit-to-work systems
Collaborating with Property, Compliance, and Fire Safety teams to deliver projects that meet safety, budget, and quality requirements
Engaging with residents through structured resident engagement strategies, ensuring clear communication on safety measures and remediation works
Representing the organisation in external forums with regulators, local authorities, housing providers, and government bodies to share best practice and influence policy
About you:
Ideally hold a HNC/HND or relevant Building Surveying / Building Safety degree
Demonstrable experience in fire safety works and a strong understanding of building safety regulations
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week
Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
