Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a prestigious housing association based in Colchester, who is currently recruiting for an Asset Manager(M&E) on a 6-month temporary contract with working from home and flexible working.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing housing improvement contracts, running of works, inspections and handovers as well as M&E surveys.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To manage housing Improvement, construction, service level contracts (Sheltered Schemes), associated repair works, and services contracts

  • Ensuring contractors plan, programme and complete works in accordance with agreed specifications and schedules and within set performance targets; complying with all current regulations

  • Manage project works and programmes as detailed by the Planned Works Manager ensuring works are completed on time, within budget and to specification

  • To ensure budgetary control is effective and efficient so budgets are not overspent, carry out analysis of budget trends and provide monthly forecasts

  • Carry out project specific surveys, in accordance with industry and/or agreed process and standards, produce relevant reports and/or agreed outputs, all to maintain agreed programmes for surveys and project works

 

Experience required:

  • Post qualification experience

  • Contract Administration of M&E Projects.

  • Quality inspections of Mechanical and Electrical installations.

  • Maintaining working relationships with Sub Contractors

  • Supervision of contractors

  • Maintaining Customer Service and relationships

  • Dealing with customer complaints

  • Dealing with difficult situations (Problem Solving)

 

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Understanding of the repairs, project management and maintenance process within a local authority

  • Working knowledge of an Asset Management database

  • Knowledge of service level maintenance contracts

  • Health & Safety issues

  • Excellent working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems

  • Achieving results through others

  • Ability to work under own initiative

  • Ability to embrace change and to contribute to efficient ways of working

  • Positive “can do” attitude and aims for continuous improvement.

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
