Service Charge Analyst
Job description
We’re proud to be partnering with a leading housing association who are looking for a Service Charge Analyst on a permanent basis.
The role is a hybrid position, offering two days working from home (Tue, Wed, Thu) and the salary is £40,000 per annum.
The successful candidate must have experience of rent and service charge processes and basic accounting principles.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring the accuracy of service cost/charge, and investigating and reporting variances to budget, providing the Rent and Service Charge Team Leader with the analysis required for the timely production of management information
Setting the rent & service charge budgets
Calculating actual charges for 2023/ 2024 and have experience working on the year end for service charge
Reconciling year end accounts for homeowners
Calculating and monitoring sinking funds, ensuring adequate funds are available for major works
Keeping accurate records of expenditure, including copies of invoices, at individual housing scheme level
Responding to enquiries from colleagues and tenants/leaseholders as required
Ensuring that they have a thorough understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice for setting of fixed and variable service charges
Liaising with Auditors as and when needed
Experience, skills and expertise required:
Experienced in service charge analysis, with a robust understanding of residential and
commercial service charge management, including current legislative requirements and
sector best practice
Strong organisational skills, able to control and deliver a range of tasks to meet
deadlines
Experience of working with councillors, the wider community, and other external partners
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Excellent financial and numerical skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong belief in customer satisfaction and business benefit driven solutions

35 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm with a one-hour lunch
