Senior Civil Litigation Lawyer (Education)
Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Devon, who are recruiting for a locum Senior Civil Litigation Lawyer (Education) to join the team for 3-months initially.
The role can be on a fully remote basis with a rate in the region of £55p/hour UMB, negotiable subject to PQE.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling a caseload of Education matters within a Local Authority.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Advising on a range of civil litigation matters including complex drafting and advocacy, with a focus on Education Law
Handling a caseload including judicial review and Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND)
Briefing Counsel for the representation of the Local Authority in the SEN Tribunal and obtaining Counsel’s opinion on any relevant proceedings
Advising on, negotiating and drafting legal documents relating to SEN Tribunal Appeals, Resolutions & Compliance proceedings
Providing legal advice to maintained schools in regards to a range of matters, including parental disputes
