We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for a Responsive Repairs Technical Officer on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start in January 2024, with the rate of pay being £30 per hour via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have trade construction knowledge (plumbing, carpentry and electrical), social housing experience and hold a full UK Driving License.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Liaise with team leaders to improve productivity and communication within the plumbing/carpentry and electrical trade areas
Support existing repairs team leaders by managing workloads referred back from in-house operatives
Act as the first point of contact for trade referrals
Deal with jobs and identify skills gaps and reviewing trade templates
Identify skill gaps and training needs, creating a training and skills matrix
Shadow and grow senior trade operatives and help to develop and grow these roles
Attend site visits
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Experience of working with responsive repairs and planned works
Dealing with schedule of rates
Knowledge and experience on how to deliver tool box talks and team talks
Being able to deliver under CDM
Experience in conflict handling
37 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
