We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for a Responsive Repairs Technical Officer on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start in January 2024, with the rate of pay being £30 per hour via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have trade construction knowledge (plumbing, carpentry and electrical), social housing experience and hold a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Liaise with team leaders to improve productivity and communication within the plumbing/carpentry and electrical trade areas

• Support existing repairs team leaders by managing workloads referred back from in-house operatives

• Act as the first point of contact for trade referrals

• Deal with jobs and identify skills gaps and reviewing trade templates

• Identify skill gaps and training needs, creating a training and skills matrix

• Shadow and grow senior trade operatives and help to develop and grow these roles

• Attend site visits

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Experience of working with responsive repairs and planned works

• Dealing with schedule of rates

• Knowledge and experience on how to deliver tool box talks and team talks

• Being able to deliver under CDM

• Experience in conflict handling

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
