Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for a Responsive Repairs Manager on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start in January 2024, with the rate of pay being £300 per day via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in achieving high performance with an in-house workforce and external sub-contractors, worked in an ALMO environment and hold a full UK Driving License.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Improve performance across the responsive repairs team
Drive an improvement in in-house productivity
Support a reduction in complaints
Create and implement a new standards and performance framework
Support and monitor a reduction in wait times for appointments in line with a separate project
Support and monitor a reduction in the backlog of repairs not appointed in line with a separate project
Provide direction to three repairs managers, two team leaders and two senior trade operatives
Quickly review what is or isn’t working and provide solutions, implementing these with members of staff
Support repairs managers to achieve a reduction in wait times for repairs and reduce the backlog of unappointed repairs
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Previous management experience within Social Housing sector
Experience of working with responsive repairs and planned works
Dealing with schedule of rates
Knowledge and experience on how to deliver tool box talks and team talks
Being able to deliver under CDM
Experience in conflict handling
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
