Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Midlands-based social housing provider, who are looking to appoint a Surveyor (Complex Cases) on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time, predominantly office-based position, with a salary of £45,00 - £50,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of leading Damp, Mould & Disrepair, and hold RICS Membership, CIOB or equivalent.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting property inspections to identify disrepair issues, as well as damp, mould, structural defects and any other maintenance issues

  • Preparing accurate, comprehensive reports and providing recommendations for remedial action in line with legislation

  • Liaising with tenants, landlords and legal teams to investigate complaints and resolve disputes

  • Working effectively with contractors, maintenance teams and external stakeholders to oversee works

  • Issuing written site instructions to contractors to work within approved limits and assist in the collection of documentation to check validity of claims

  • Maintaining up-to-date records and documentation using internal systems

Experience & Skills required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Knowledge of undertaking disrepair, damp & mould inspections

  • Understanding of current CDM and contract management

  • Experience working with customers within housing

  • RICS Membership, CIOB or equivalent

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm
