Job description

Our client, based in Bedfordshire, is currently recruiting for a Property Inspector on a permanent basis, with a salary of £34,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with operational delivery of large volume property repairs and planned maintenance services.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting property inspections, diagnosing repairs and identifying solutions for damp and mould and disrepair issues in social housing, recommending effective and cost-efficient repairs /solutions

  • Providing appropriate guidance and information to customers as required

  • Inspecting and approving completed works, ensuring they meet agreed specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements

  • Managing and maintaining accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation using our management system

  • Raising maintenance works orders to properties where required (both internal & sub-contracted work) with relevant SOR, ensuring effective recording and reporting and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner

  • Carrying out quality Health & Safety audits/inspections

  • Ensuring properties comply with all housing and safety regulations, including risk assessments and hazard identification

  • Ensuring that policy reviews are carried out at regular intervals and kept up to date

  • Assisting in setting departmental targets and act as a key driver in ensuring all relevant maintenance and repairs KPI’s are achieved

Expertise required:

  • Experience carrying out inspections in domestic properties

  • Knowledge of planning, building control and other statutory requirements

  • Understanding Health & Safety requirements
