Job description
Our client, based in Southeast London, is currently recruiting for a Plumber on a 3-month temporary to permanent contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £26 - £29 per hour via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent and have excellent customer service skills, resulting in high customer satisfaction
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carry out all necessary administrative work, including keeping accurate and timely records of all work from receiving jobs to completion
- Communicate and work with other trades, providing technical advice and input as required
- Self-manage and check own work as required
- Ensure all work is carried out in a proper and thorough manner, taking into consideration Health and Safety requirements
- Utilise extra skills to complete the majority of repairs on first visit
- Make sure tenants understand their own repair responsibilities, through good communication
- Identify repairs that should be recharged to tenants, and make records to ensure these are followed up by colleagues
Experience required:
- Appropriate knowledge of social housing and/or related industry
- Housing and/or Buildings knowledge
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
- Be fully competent in all aspects of plumbing
- Have a broad range of extra skills to ensure the most response repairs are completed on first visit
- Have good standard of education in numeracy and literacy
- Have good level of IT skills
- Have excellent customer service skills, resulting in high customer satisfaction
- Have effective communication skills, both spoken and written
- Be self-motivated, assertive and confident
- Be reliable and thorough
