Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Surrey, who are recruiting for a Planned Works Project Officer on a temporary contract until the end of September 2024. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The daily rate of pay is negotiable up to £250 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a planned maintenance and programmed contract work service and have sound technical knowledge.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the planned works programme manager to deliver effective programmes of work that deliver excellent customer outcomes and engagement from the outset to completion
  • Contribute to the delivery of investment projects on time, within budget, to deliver exceptional levels of resident satisfaction
  • Carry out and manage the quality inspection process of works, including pre-start scoping, work in progress quality inspections and post inspection sign-offs
  • Maintain effective records and information systems in support of project delivery, service planning, KPI’s and benchmarking
  • Attend meetings of resident groups and other stakeholders
  • Attend and contribute to contractor progress meetings, review contractors’ performance and produce written reports

    • Experience required:

  • Design and specification of cyclical planned and improvement programmes
  • Managing a planned maintenance and programmed contract works service in a social housing environment
  • Good internal and external stakeholder management experience, preferably in a contracting environment

    • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Understanding of supply chain management
  • Knowledge of general building construction, planning & building regulations
  • Good understanding of Decent Homes
