Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading charity based in West London, who are recruiting for a People Officer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Our client is proud to be recognised as a national charity that provides support to older people facing financial hardship.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £31,125 per annum (increasing to £32,000 after 6 months’ probation and £32,850 after 12 months) and the start date is in January 2024.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Reviewing, developing and effectively maintaining systems and processes to ensure that all transactional activity are undertaken accurately and efficiently

  • Coordinating the recruitment and onboarding process for staff and volunteers ensuring compliance with internal processes, best practice and safer recruitment procedures

  • Supporting with induction and training for staff and volunteers

  • Ensuring the accurate processing of information for payroll, pensions, and benefits

  • Managing shared email inboxes and providing first line advice on policies, procedures and queries from staff and volunteers, ensuring that queries are escalated appropriately where necessary

  • Maintaining the HR system, Payroll system and volunteer records on the CRM to ensure accuracy and data integrity, undertaking monthly audits to ensure information is correct

  • Processing and tracking the People and Organisational Development invoices

  • Escalating any complex issues to the People Manager or another manager in the People team

Experience required:

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent

  • Experience of working in an HR Operations environment

  • Experience of developing and improving systems and processes

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft 365 applications

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

  • Customer focused, with excellent communication skills
