​We are currently working in partnership with a manufacturer based in Derbyshire, who are recruiting for a permanent Payroll Manager due to start as soon as possible.

The position offers hybrid working with a two-day work from home policy on Mondays and Fridays. The salary range is between £55,000 and £60,000.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a payroll team and be able to manage short- and long-term goals in a fast-changing environment.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing strong leadership and guidance to a payroll team of three

• Delivering a monthly payroll to 1,700 workers both salaried and hourly-paid across multiple sites

• Overseeing the accurate processing and maintenance of monthly bonus and redundancy accruals

• Performing year end duties such as processing P11Ds and P60s

• Producing all journals and reports accurately and in a timely manner

• Operating the time and attendance system and overseeing pension auto-enrolment

• Preparing payroll forecast for budgeting purposes

Experience required:

• Managerial experience of a payroll team

• Performance improvement experience

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Thorough technical knowledge of payroll including tax

• In-depth knowledge of payroll calculation and processing

• Intermediate Excel skills

• A keen eye and attention to detail

Working hours:

• 38 hours per week

• 8.30am – 5pm (4pm on Friday)

• Two days working from home (Monday & Friday)
