Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association, who are looking to appoint a Leasehold Management Lead on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time position based in Derbyshire, with hybrid working (to fit business needs) with a salary of £33,522 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, experience dealing with tenancy breaches and managing estates.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Producing and developing effective processes and policies for the management of leasehold properties, enabling a consistent management approach and levels of customer service

  • Responding to permission requests in line with the requirements of the property lease and requirements from internal teams

  • Carrying out regular site visits and actioning any potential repairs to communal areas, and/or areas for improvements to groundworks and communal spaces

  • Responsible for third party estate management companies and ensuring they are delivering cost effective services

  • Working with the Service Charge Accountant to ensure service charges are correctly applied to leases

  • Managing breaches to leases (i.e., subletting)

  • Identifying and managing repossessions and abandoned properties, liaising with the relevant teams (i.e. income and property resales)

  • Administration of Section 20 repairs including consulting with customers, obtaining relevant quotations, and ensuring costs are passed to customers and are reclaimed where appropriate

  • Working with asset management to support on the management of fire safety and compliance of flats blocks and communal areas

  • Managing leases for commercial premises where they arise

Experience required:

  • Dealing with frustrated customers and handling their cases

  • Working alongside other teams to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely matter

  • Experience dealing with repossessions and abandoned properties

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • A strong knowledge of housing policies and section 20s

  • A strong idea of service charge and when to escalate to a specific team

Working hours:

  • 37.00 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
