Job description

We are delighted to be representing a retail group that specialises in the design and implementation of home features, based in Kent, who are looking to appoint a new HR Officer on a 12 to 18-month FTC.

This will be a full-time position which is based fully in the office with a salary of £45,000 and 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.

The client is looking for someone with a strong understanding of employment law who is capable of providing sound advice to all employees and senior stakeholders.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing generalist HR advice and support to all employees and managers within the business, and act as key point of contact for employment legislation and best practice advice

  • Acting as the HR representative for investigations, grievance, disciplinary, performance management and other employee relations matters

  • Supporting for recruitment and on boarding, including the creation and updating of Company PSL

  • Assisting with preparation of interview and selection packs, the advertising of positions on approved job sites and databases, shortlisting of candidates against JD and PS, liaising with line managers and candidates

  • Providing assistance and support to the Head of HR on all HR matters, HR administration and payroll procedures

  • Applying for references for all new starters and provide reference requests in standard format for all leavers

  • Overseeing the co-ordination and administration of the training plans, including providing manager training and support and the identification of training needs

  • Processing, maintaining and providing timely and accurate HR data using the HR database, as well as updating and maintaining the HR electronic filing database

Experience required:

  • Providing advice on employee relation casework

  • Management of long-term absence

  • Working across the full recruitment lifecycle

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • CIPD qualified

  • Updated knowledge of employment law

Working hours:

  • 40 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm
