Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a higher educational institution based in Surrey who are recruiting for a HR Business Partner on a permanent basis. The position is due to start at the beginning of November. The annual salary for this role is £48,619 per annum (negotiable based on experience).
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a higher educational institution and previous experience working within HR teams, providing pragmatic and proactive HR support and advice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Assisting with the ongoing development, implementation and embedding of the HR strategies
Providing professional advice and guidance on medium/long term organisational design
Leading, supporting and advising on restructures and re-organisations
Working with the HR operational team to support their portfolio of casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, probation and ill health procedures
Working in partnership with senior managers within your specified areas of responsibility to manage change effectively
Working in close partnership with the Recruitment Team to ensure designated areas strategic resourcing needs are taken into account
Liaising with the HR Systems Team and other colleagues to optimise the HR System functionality
Experience required:
Experience working autonomously and as part of a team to deliver the common objective of the organisation
Experience thinking strategically and delivering effective solutions in a complex and demanding environment
Experience maintaining high level of confidentiality
Significant experience at a senior HR professional level and of providing high level HR advise and support
Experience of consultation and negotiation with trade unions
Experience of working in the higher education sector
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Ability to effectively demonstrate building credibility, trust and respect with senior managers
Good understanding of employment law
Evidence of effective casework management
Track record of influencing senior management
