Job description

We are currently partnering an award-winning further educational institution with campuses across South East London, who are recruiting for a HR Advisor to join their growing team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

This is a full-time position with a salary band of £30,023 to £33,765 per annum and the start date is December 2023.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing professional advice, guidance and support to all staff, covering a full range of the employee lifecycle, first line HR/Employee Relations casework

  • Managing the HR/ER case list and recording progress against each case being managed within the HR team

  • Ensuring the application of college policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice HR principles

  • Assisting the HR Business Partner/Senior Business Partner across designated responsibility areas in relation to organisational change initiatives

  • Providing professional advice and support to managers in relation to the performance management process

  • Ensuring information held within the department is accurate and that changes are appropriately communicated across the team effectively

  • Supporting the recruitment process within areas of responsibility as well as supporting college-wide recruitment initiatives

  • Assisting with all HR-related matters across the organisation arising from the strategic aims, including actively supporting cultural changes and initiatives associated with projects

  • Supporting employee engagement and communication processes including the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) staff forum and the HR website pages

Experience required:

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiently

  • Ability to prioritise work and use initiative to respond to routine problems

  • Understanding of recruitment and selection principles

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5pm
