Job description

We are currently partnering with an esteemed Housing Association based in the West Midlands who love their city, and aim to provide good quality homes and great customer service for their tenants and leaseholders.

They are looking for a driven Housing Allocations Assistant to join their team on a two-month temporary contract. This will be a full-time position, and provides working from home to fit business need after an initial training period.

This role is due to start as soon as possible, and offers a rate of £16.00 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Dealing with day-to-day allocations, Housing Register and Housing Transfer enquiries from applicants and tenants

  • Conducting interviews and home visits as required

  • Ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the allocations process

  • Obtaining supporting documents for housing applications (e.g., landlord references)

  • Providing assistance to customers seeking accommodation including assistance with an application process and advice on sheltered housing

  • Processing medical & social need referrals and other supporting information provided in relation to housing applications

  • Dealing with mutual exchanges, sign ups, successions and transfers of properties

  • Advertising vacant homes on choice-based lettings team

  • Monitoring systems and keep records up to date at all times

  • Undertaking post sign up administration and relevant notifications

  • Dealing with customer enquiries received via email

Experience required:

  • Working in a customer facing role

  • Housing administration

  • Dealing with the Allocations

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • IT literate and confident in administration

  • Provided advice to housing customers

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
