Job description
Our client, based in the West Midlands, is currently searching for a Housing Advice and Welfare Team Leader to join their passionate team on a temporary basis. They seek to provide a high quality, customer-focused service to people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless - empowering them to make well-informed decisions regarding their housing options.
This is a six-month temporary contract initially, working 37.00 hours per week. The hourly rate is £26.50 via an Umbrella Company – which is negotiable. This position also offers around 2 days per week working from home.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Providing specialist advice internally and externally (whilst using good judgement to avoid risk, make decisions and resolve complex issues in the interests of the organisation and its people)
Managing a team of Homeless Triage Officers, Housing Customer Services Officers, and a Housing Apprentice
Assisting in the development, implementation and review of new policies
Leading on project working – including fundraising and procurement
Monitoring team performance and caseloads and setting KPIs
Conducting audits, appraisals and one-to-one sessions in order to improve the service
Demonstrating a strong customer focus when developing both internal and external partnerships
Experience required:
Successfully managing projects and contracts
Managing staff and providing guidance and supervision
Providing effective service to individuals experiencing homelessness
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Up-to-date knowledge on relevant Housing and Homeless Legislation (Housing Act 2004 and Homelessness Act 2002)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working hours:
37.00 hours per week
Monday – Friday
9:00 am – 5:00 pm
