Job description
We are currently partnering with a Housing Association who are committed to making a real and positive difference to the lives of local customers and the communities they live in.
They are in search of a Home Ownership Officer to join their team in the West Midlands for a 4-month temporary contract.
This is a full-time position, and is remote with occasional travel to the office every few weeks.
The ideal candidate will have a Basic DBS dated within the last 3 years, access to a vehicle and experience dealing with leasehold and home ownership.
The hourly rate for this role is negotiable up to £25.00 per hour via an Umbrella Company.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing Leasehold, Shared Ownership, Freehold, and any other non-social housing stock
Working to achieve challenging targets for high standards of performance in all areas of services, focusing on the KPI’s for arrears repossessions and service charges
Taking legal action via MCOL / PCOL and pursuing court orders / charging orders and taking relevant action if these are defaulted on
Providing effective estate management to service charge groups, serving Section 20 notices and ensuring compliance with current Leasehold legislation
Dealing with lease management queries such as boundary disputes, consents, alterations to properties, lease extensions, re-mortgages, further advances, subletting or sole to joint / joint to sole applications
Discussing options of repossession and forfeiture where appropriate with the Home Ownership Manager and Head of Customer Accounts
Carrying out home visits for pre court appointments or any other visit required to resolve issues raised
Managing arrears to ensure performance remains within the organisation target
Encouraging and developing customer involvement and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction, seeking feedback to inform future service standards and procedures
Experience required:
Experience working with customers within housing
Pursuing court orders and gathering relevant evidence
Overcoming lease management queries
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Risk assessment and estate management
Financial management and arrears recovery
Reaching targets and monitoring performance
