Job description
We are currently working with an Academic body based in South East London, who are looking to bring in a Finance Officer on an initial eight-week contract with the potential for extension.
This is a full-time role which requires the successful candidate to be onsite every day during term time, however flexibility will be offered during non-term time. The rate will be negotiable depending on experience.
The successful candidate will have at least one year’s solid experience working in Accounts Payable, hold an Enhanced DBS and have used the PS Financials system experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Supporting the Accounts Payable team with the processing of invoices using PS Financials
To assist with maintaining the accounts, budgets and funds using PS Financials
Review all funding, and any other external income and raise any queries directly with the relevant body and highlight any discrepancies to the Finance Manager
Oversee all matters relating to accounts payable, including processing, paying and reconciling invoices, account and delivery queries and departmental charging
Support the Finance Manager in ensuring PSF Procurement process is followed correctly by all users; raising purchase order, goods received note, matching of invoice etc.
Adhere to cash handling procedures and assist with the maintenance of petty cash administration
Complete the monthly reconciliation of all control accounts including the bank accounts
Processing and clearing a backlog of invoices to be updated before Financial Year End
Monitoring the inbox and liaising with the wider team to answer any queries as required
Experience required:
Minimum one years’ experience working in an Accounts Payable role
Processing purchase invoices and bank reconciliations
Experience using PS Financials
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Able to work autonomously and within a team
Able to maintain positive relationships with staff and parents
Desirable experience of Excel at an intermediate level
Good IT skills and able to learn new systems efficiently
Strong communication skills
Excellent eye for detail
