Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an esteemed Housing Association based in Leeds who pride themselves in building rewarding futures through recognising people’s strengths, championing their voices, and working in partnerships to deliver excellent services.

This will be a full-time position based in Leeds, for a temporary contract lasting two months (with the possibility for extension). This role will involve shift working and weekend working on a rota basis

The ideal candidate will have access to an Enhanced DBS dated within the last 3 years, and have access to a vehicle. The rate for this role is £15.50 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working with a caseload typically 5-10 young people with a range complex needs (including mental health and homelessness)
  • Completing risk assessments, support plans and property visits to young people in the local area
  • Conducting health and safety checks and ensuring the property is maintained to a high standard
  • Exploring all housing options including the completion of applications to external organisations and supporting clients to attend housing assessments
  • Ensuring all necessary records are properly maintained in line with policies and procedures on young person files, finance and administration
  • Participating in regular supervision, team meetings and other meetings as required
  • Responding to emergencies and prioritising workload accordingly
  • Demonstrating understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity

Experience required:

  • Experience of supporting young people to identify needs and risks and plan for positive goals and outcomes
  • Working in an environment where confidentiality is applied at a sensitive level
  • Demonstrating outstanding commitment and enthusiasm for working with young people from complex backgrounds

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to respond appropriately to instances of challenging behaviour
  • Confident in working well within a team

Working hours:

  • 35.00 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday with weekend working on a shift basis
  • 7:30 am – 15:30 pm and 14:30pm – 22:30pm
