Job description

Our client, a Local Authority based in Oxfordshire, is currently recruiting for a locum Construction lawyer on an initial 3-month contract, with potential extension.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and the hourly rate is negotiable subject to PQE.

The ideal candidate will a strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts and drafting.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a caseload of non-contentious matters, including advising on high-value infrastructure projects, NEC and JCT contracts

  • Providing high quality legal and procurement advice, including advising on the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and dealing with procurements via Framework Agreements

  • Working under pressure and to tight deadlines, under minimal supervision

  • Attending office as required to oversee the collation and sealing of contracts

Experience required:

  • Construction Law

  • NEC Contracts
