Job description

We are delighted to be representing a Public Sector organisation, based in Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a Commercial Contracts Manager on a permanent basis.

This will be a full time position, with hybrid working (2 days home working) and a salary of c.£62,400. 

The client is looking for someone with a strong understanding of the contracts process and are happy to provide training to someone looking to progress into management.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Line Managing one Contracts Officer

  • Managing a variety of contracts ranging in value up to £10m

  • Designing and improving organisation wide Contract Management Policies, Procedures and Frameworks

  • Working with Internal Audit to ensure a robust schedule is in place to test compliance

  • Overseeing supplier onboarding and due diligence of all business suppliers

  • Negotiating contracts to ensure best value for money

  • Carrying out spend analysis and monitoring supplier spend against agreed contract values

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong understanding of the full contracts process

  • Strong understanding of the property market

  • CIPS Qualification is desirable but not essential as the course will be funded if required
