Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a private practice based in London, who are recruiting for a CDM Principal Designer/Advisor on a permanent contract. The position is due to start soon with a salary between £40,000-£55,000.

The ideal candidate will demonstrable health & safety skills, a minimum of 2 years in the construction industry and a professional qualification in H&S (or the motivation for obtaining one).

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Collaborating closely with Head of Construction Design & Management under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System

  • Take part in projects at all RIBA stages 1-6 and spearheading the planning, management and monitoring of health and safety during pre-construction phases

  • Acting as a key advisor to clients, facilitating and gathering critical preconstruction data to ensure seamless flow of information for designers and contractors

  • Forging strong collaborations with fellow designers on each project to identify and eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks

  • Maintaining consistent lines of communication with the principal contractor so they are well-informed about any potential risks throughout the construction phase

Experience required:

  • Health & Safety skills in construction sector

  • 2 years’ experience in design domain

  • Professional qualification in Health & Safety or equivalent
