Job description
We are currently partnering with a large Housing Association based in North London, who are recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week, with a salary of £53,300 per annum.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- To undertake full property inspections and detailed condition reports across all work streams including Complex Repairs, damp and mould, complaints, insurance and pre-action protocol
- To manage all on-site coordination, control, quality and completion of all maintenance projects, including Insurance / Disrepair / Planned / Cyclical/ Reactive works / Response Repairs
- Monitor and supervise the progress and quality of works
- Liaise with the Contractor's, loss adjusters and supervisory personnel to ensure the works are delivered on time and to required quality
- To liaise with residents and stakeholders on projects, including dealing with complaints
- To assist with procurement of suitable contractors and supplier chain for all Asset management's reactive/planned work streams
Experience required:
- Minimum of 5yrs experience in property surveying role, site inspector or quality manager role in the UK property/Housing sector
- Demonstrable previous experience of writing in depth inspection reports, preparing schedule of works and programming and project management responsibility
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Excellent current knowledge of housing law and regulations
- Ability to make concise factual reports both verbally and in writing and produce detailed specifications
- Able to build positive relationships with customers that have had cause to complain
