Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a dedicated Social Housing provider based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for two Asset Investment Manager’s on a permanent basis.
The position is due to start in the coming months, pending notice. The salary is £56,250 per annum, plus company benefits.
The ideal candidate will ideally have a HND in building, construction or be qualified by experience and ideally also a qualification in project management or be qualified by experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Directly line managing a Senior Project Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Project Surveyor and an Apprentice Surveyor (Building / Quantity)
Leading an asset investment team to deliver the organisations annual asset investment programme, with customers put first throughout all activities
Ensuring the effective and consistent management of contracts for asset investment and support the asset and estate management contracted services.
Leading and supporting a team in achieving excellent customer service and operational performance through effective asset investment
Ensuring consistent contract management, performance management and budgetary control across the projects
Achieving a climate of continuous learning and customer service and operational improvement through excellent leadership
Being accountable for performance improvement, service development and driving asset investment decisions to ensure our housing and services meet local demand and provide value for money
Experience required:
Knowledge and understanding of the housing sector, building construction, property maintenance and improvements
Experience of delivering asset investment programme of works and services to leaseholders and tenants
Previously managed a multi-site service and have a track record of developing performance in an operating and service delivery environment
Must have the ability to apply strong generalist skills to managing technical areas of responsibility
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Ability to plan and programme own work and that of a team
Experience of managing change and embedding performance cultures
Ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines as well as identify customer needs and develop appropriate solutions
Excellent communication skills with a variety of audiences
Experience of working effectively with stakeholders
Experience of facilitating groups of residents / resident engagement
Ability to problem solve and to support staff to assess situations and make positive judgements to reflect the local requirements
Experience of managing and developing staff to work independently and exercising judgement
Experience of budget performance for projects
Strong skills in performance management, monitoring and financial management
