Sheffield Hallam University
Where are you from originally?
What drew you towards a career in recruitment?
I was initially drawn into recruitment upon finishing my degree knowing that I wanted to work in a business environment that had a great atmosphere. Working within a sector of interest and in a team environment, motivating each other to get sales and placing jobs is something that excited me, knowing that two days will never be the same.
What first attracted you to James Andrews
I was attracted to James Andrews because of their training programme, sociability, location and the success of the company through the awards they have won.
Why did you decide to seek a graduate role in Leicester?
I decided to gain a graduate role in Leicester due to the city being my home town. After finishing university I realised I wanted to still live at home and be close to family.
Favourite thing about working here so far?
The biggest thing that has surprised me about the job is the attention to detail and how specific each process is before and during placing someone into a job.
What has surprised you most about being a Recruitment Consultant?
The most surprising thing initially upon becoming a recruitment consultant is the variety of jobs that are given out on a weekly basis. Before joining I thought the jobs that were going to be given/advertised to candidates and clients etc I would know, however, looking at the whiteboards and seeing all the different jobs, there was a fair few that I had never heard before. I take this as a positive that this will expand my knowledge and contribute to the variety of a recruitment consultant.
What have you enjoyed most so far about your day-to-day work or training?
The thing I have most enjoyed so far about the job is getting to know and gaining an understanding of the work of a recruitment consultant. I know the job involves a lot of information gathering, however I find it exciting knowing each day of training I am learning more and more steps about the job.
