Job description

We are partnering with a Housing Association based in Buckinghamshire who pride themselves in their supportive, inclusive and responsive service. They are searching for a part-time Support Worker to join their team on a permanent basis.

This will be a part-time position working 22.5 hours per week, and offers flexible working hours and days.

This position offers an annual pro-rata’d salary of £15,210. The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle, and an Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing attentive and tailored support to a caseload of 10 vulnerable service users within a homeless accommodation

  • Offering one-to-one and group guidance sessions to encourage independent living and personal development

  • Advising on welfare and benefits applications and income management to reduce the risk of rent arrears

  • Forming detailed support plans and risk assessments to cater to service users’ individual needs

  • Liaising with external agencies such as Police, Landlords, GP’s and Emergency Services

  • Remaining calm and effectively mediating any stressful and complex situations

  • Working alongside individuals with complex needs and offer opportunities for them to improve their quality of life, develop their skills and make decisions about their future

  • Delivering practical housing related support through structured link work

Experience required:

  • Providing front-line support to individuals with a range of complex needs – especially homelessness

  • Conducting risk assessments – including health and safety and safeguarding checks

  • Offering Housing related support and assisting with application processes

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent communication

  • Ability to mediate hostile situations

  • Passion for making a difference in lives of others

  • Providing Housing related advice and guidance

Working hours:

  • 22.5 hours per week

  • Flexible working hours and days: Monday – Friday, between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
