Job description

We are currently partnering with an award winning Charity/Not For Profit, who are recruiting for a Support Worker based on a scheme in Hounslow on a one month rolling contract.

This is a full-time position with a rate of £18.45 PAYE or £21.65 umbrella per hour. The client is looking to interview this week and get started next week (w/c 15th April).

The successful candidate will have an enhanced DBS dated within the last three years and experience dealing with Homelessness.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a caseload of 30-35 clients who are currently in B&B’s or temporary accommodation

  • Working in a floating fashion across the Borough of Hounslow

  • Supporting clients that have a range of complex needs including Drug and Alcohol dependencies, Mental Health Issues or Learning Difficulties etc.

  • Conducting risk assessments and maintaining support plans

  • Advising on welfare/benefits available and assist clients to make applications

  • Attending appointments with clients such as when their presenting homeless applications to the council or other necessary appointments (GP’s, job centres

  • Occasionally working alongside the Lead Workers to provide outreach support

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with homelessness customers within housing

  • Floating experience

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Advocacy support

  • Compliance and due diligence
