Job description

We are currently partnering with an award winning, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy. They are currently recruiting for a Senior CDM Principal Designer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position with a salary band of £50,000 to £55,000 with a £5,000 car allowance and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Planning & coordinating pre-construction phases of projects to identify significant and foreseeable risks relating to construction, maintenance, cleaning and using the building as a workplace

  • Working with the client to gather preconstruction information, assess the adequacy, identify gaps and provide advice on how they might be filled and distribute to those that need it

  • Managing multiple projects for key clients to the business particularly focused on the high-rise residential refurbishment, development and commercial sector

  • Providing clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project

  • Attending client meetings and carrying out H&S site inspections and delivering high quality reports to the client within agreed deadlines

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction

  • Ideally hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate

  • Ideally are an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs)

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation

  • Good communicator with interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Have full and clean driver’s license
