We are proud to be partnering with a reputable Housing Association based in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint a permanent Senior Asset Surveyor (Special projects).

This will be a full-time position, with a starting salary of £49,115 per annum. This Housing Association offers a wide range of benefits:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar position and experience in managing multiple tasks and projects at any given time.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the effective delivery of contracted services ensuring delivery is in a timely, cost effective and customer focused manner

  • Carrying out expert witness services relating to housing disrepair

  • Undertaking surveys and writing up findings in a Scott Schedule and prepare a report

  • Working as part of the experienced in-house team to complete inspections of disrepair; provide court compliant reports, post inspections and desktop reviews

  • Critiquing reports provided by external surveyors

  • Managing the disrepair and complex complaints case load

  • Providing technical reports and legal statements

  • Refuting opposing opinion and delivering satisfactory results for the organisation and customers

  • Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met in accordance with the organisation’s policies, procedures and statutory requirements

  • Represent the organisation as an expert witness in a court of law, or at a hearing set in any other professional location

Experience required:

  • Experience in social housing

  • Experience in managing multiple tasks and time management

  • Recognised building/M&E related qualification or supervisory site management qualification or equivalent technical level of expertise demonstrated through significant work experience

  • Experience of inspecting properties

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Time management

  • Knowledge of appropriate quality standards, building regulations, planning requirements, disrepair and FRA obligations

  • Understanding of defects falling under relevant legislation

  • Ability to recognize the importance of internal communication and using central systems to record information

  • Good construction knowledge including health & safety legislation, fire safety and CDM regulations

  • Ability to identify building defects and their remedies

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday
