Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Charity based in Coventry, who are looking for a Project Worker to join their passionate and pro-active team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have access to a vehicle, be willing to have an Enhanced DBS carried out and have experience in support settings.

This position offers an annual salary of £23,817.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working in a 14 bed-house alongside customers with complex needs including ex-offenders

  • Acting as a Key Worker to designated clients supporting the arrangement and delivery of purposeful activities

  • Forming tailored support plans in line with Project budgets

  • Taking an active role in risk assessment and management, including the operation of physical and situational security measures to ensure public, staff and client safety

  • Engaging within the community to provide help and support

  • Appropriately challenge and de-escalate anti-social behaviour and attitudes and report to statutory organisations as required

  • Managing regular client meetings and facilitating client inclusion

  • Providing other staff and clients with relevant advice, support and training to assist them in the safe delivery of the service

  • Assisting in the management of the referral process within the project to achieve agreed occupancy levels

Experience required:

  • Key working with clients and/or client engagement

  • Knowledge of hostel management issues, funding, staffing and administration

  • Working with offenders or other disadvantaged groups in the criminal justice, housing, social services, not-for-profit sectors

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Be able to work in a challenging and demanding environment

  • Good listening and speaking skills

  • Able to deal discretely with delicate matters

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team

  • Reliable and able to manage own workload

Working hours:

  • 40 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday

  • Shift patterns - 8:00am - 4:00pm or 12:30pm – 8:30pm (flexible)
