Job description

We are currently working with reputable charity who are looking for a Maintenance Officer to be based out of their East London site. Our client works one-to-one with people experiencing homelessness, helping them to regain their self-belief and rebuild their lives.

The role is a full-time mobile position, and is due to start as soon as possible.

Our client is looking for candidates with experience working within reactive repairs and who holds a full UK Driving License (van provided).

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Ensure that day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance to owned or sub leased properties are efficiently and effectively carried out

Supervise and manage directly employed operatives and sub-contractors.

Monitor the performance of internal operatives and contractors dealing with responsive and planned maintenance to ensure compliance with completion targets, quality health and safety and productivity

Maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items required to perform duties assigned

Monitor budgets, commitments and expenditure and raise work orders, PO’s and invoice administration

Assist the Facilities Manager to generate contract and specification documentation and take a lead role in the supervision and monitoring of partnering contracts ensuring compliance with H&S and budgets

Experience required:

Experience within a maintenance coordination role or Health and safety management role

Minimum two years’ experience within the sector etc.

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team

Ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels, maintaining professional boundaries

Able to carry out instructions and work in an organised and methodical manner
