We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for an Insurance Officer to join their team on an interim basis for six months. The contract can be conducted remotely, but any attendance will be advantageous. 

This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of up to £25 p/hour, to be paid via an umbrella company.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Administering and determining insurance claims including negotiation with claimants, Directorates and Insurance Companies
• Calculating and arranging compensation or recovery to claimants / claimant's representatives as appropriate
• Liaising with colleagues from other Directorates and accessing systems to gather information as part of claims investigation, detailing a clear and concise methodology and reasoning
• Ensuring that only legitimate claims are processed, flagging fraudulent claims for investigation
• Primarily processing claims relating to Public Liability Highways claims, but also supporting with claims in relation to other policy type claims (e.g. General Public Liability, Motor claims and Property claims)       
  
  

Experience required:

• Experience required in Insurance, ideally within Local Government
